Tee Time-Jacksonville Family Photographer

A little late in blogging this one, but a few weeks ago, my son was in a golf tournament with some of his new friends he made at golf camp over the summer. I was able to ride along in the cart but couldn't assist him in any way, so in order to keep "Mom Mouth" quiet, I grabbed my camera and became a paparazzi! How was I to know that a nail-biting drama was going to unfold by the end of the day...

They tee'ed off in groups of three:







When the scores were turned in, Preston was in a tie for the lowest putt trophy! That meant there was going to be a put-off. Because bad weather had come in, we had to wait until after dinner to continue. Preston's golf coach took them back out to the 18th hole where she explained the rules then flipped a coin to see who would go first.



Preston went first...well short of the hole. Then his competitor went, also short...but further out. He putted again and didn't make it. It was now Preston's turn...








And although Phil wasn't there to cheer Preston on, we feel like he would have given the thumbs up to Preston's first tournament win:

The Lovely Ladies of Jacksonville-Jacksonville Family Photographer

What a wonderful 3 days of {Portrait} partying!!! Despite the afternoon showers, there was a wonderful turnout from the most beautiful ladies in all of Jacksonville. I appreciate every single one of them...for taking some time for themselves and for the self confidence that all of them had. For most of us ladies it's not easy to focus on ourselves. We judge ourselves too much, way to critical of all of our imperfections...here is the quote of the day, and a good one to adopt as our new mantra:

" Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it is better to absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." ~ Marilyn Monroe

The families whom I have photographed events for always tell me that it was such a stress reliever to have someone else taking the pictures so they could entertain and enjoy...oh, yeah and be in the pictures! From personal experience, you would never know I was at either of my kid's birthday parties cause I'm not in any of the pictures!!

Boy oh Boy-Jacksonville Newborn Photographer

I am going to be busy the next few days editing head shots from the portrait parties so I wanted to get this sneak peek up...I know Mom is anxious to see them. This little guy just turned 3 months old and has such a playful personality!!! He was joined by his adorable cousin who had me entertained from the moment we met. He loves his new nephew, that is for sure! Thank you for inviting me into your home and capturing this moment in time that seems to go by with the blink of an eye.

This time of year in Florida we can count on a couple of things for certain...hot, sticky temperatures and afternoon showers! The W family were so fabulous because they had to deal with both and it didn't slow them down a bit...guess it helps that their whole family is beautiful and they are naturally cheerful! It was such a pleasure meeting you all, here are a few sneak peeks!

Preppy Party-Jacksonville Family Photographer

One of my favorite families had amazing pool party for their daughter who was turning the Fabulous 5! Her Mom made it one to remember with no detail ignored. A full candy bar, home made watermelon punch, beautifully wrapped PB&J; sandwiches and party bubbles as a take home gift. The color scheme was preppy pink and green, perfectly fit for this princess! Happy Birthday Gracie!

My niece Zoe came over this week for her 2 month pictures. What can I say, she is perfect!!! Looks like she might be my assistant one day a week so be on the look out for weekly updates of the trouble Zoe and I are getting in :)

Girls just want to have fun-Jacksonville Family Photographer

I might summarize most of my photo sessions with one word: spontaneous!!! Sure, we go into most sessions with a plan of what is going to happen but 95% of the time, those plans fly right out of the window...and you know what? I LOVE THAT!!! Don't get me wrong, there is nothing better than a perfect family picture...everyone looking, smiling and sitting still. But how many times do you walk into your house and see your family sitting perfectly on the sofa (or maybe this just doesn't happen in my house???). That is why I love spontaneous sessions. Capturing REAL personalities, REAL moments is what it is all about.
Little Miss E had her own agenda on this shoot and it was pretty simple: Get Wet! And I couldn't love her parents more for allowing her to do this and getting wet with her! Here are just a couple of sneak peeks (warning, it is going to make you want to go to the beach!)

Sweet Baby A-Jacksonville Newborn Photographer

Beautiful Miss A came over for her close-up and boy, was she the perfect model! She slept almost the entire time and let us move her all around. She even tried to sneak in a smile every once in a while. Thanks to her Mom and Dad for letting me take her first of many portraits!
