Sit Still-Jacksonville Family Photographer

I was cleaning my camera the other day when my son Preston came and hopped on my bed beside me...the conversation follows:
Preston: Whatcha doing Mom?
Me: Cleaning my gear
Preston: You haven't taken my picture in a while
Me: Cause you expect me to pay you when I take your picture and I'm low on cash
Preston: How about I let you take my picture for free today since it's almost your birthday
Me: Let's go pick out something for you to wear
Preston: Nope, you have to take it right here, right now or no deal

And so these were his frames...and they are perfectly him...right here, right now...and I love them more than anything.

Family Farm-Jacksonville Family Photographer

I love it when I am able to photograph a family in a location that has special meaning. This week I headed out to West Florida to the D Family's farm. This is where they have shared so many special memories with each other and grandparents. What I love the most was how comfortable they were, feeding the goats, playing on the tractors and rocking on the front porch. I hope I was able to capture a little bit of that magic for the kids to remember for a long time...enjoy your sneak peek:

The Spice Girls-Jacksonville Family Photographer

My favorite part of photographing children is seeing how each and every child has such a unique personality. They aren't trying to impress anyone, they are just who they are and if I'm lucky, my camera catches it. Each time someone sets up a session, I have them fill out a survey that asks them to describe each member of their family. One of the best surveys I have ever received was the A family. Mom described each of the three beautiful girls so perfectly...and I thought how wonderful it was that their Mom embraces how different each girl is. Day at the Zoo-Jacksonville Family Photographer

The weather is finally starting to cool off here in Florida, it actually feels like fall! Bella and I joined my niece this weekend for her first trip to the Jacksonville Zoo. We are really lucky to have one of the best zoo's I have ever been to. The animals are easily accessible, there are plenty of play grounds for the kids and it has a water park! Located on the Trout River, there is even a walk out over the river where you get a pretty good view of the city. If you haven't been lately, now is definitely the time of year to go :)

On the move-Jacksonville Family Photographer

I have been blessed over the years to have some great neighbors!!! I remember walking over to this little guy's driveway to meet him as his Mom and Dad brought him home from the hospital...and now he is about to turn 2! (You might recognize him from this shoot last year) We went to the park with great intentions of taking pictures for the big man's celebration but as with most almost 2 year olds, he had no intention of being still long enough to take pictures. Soooo, I followed him :) He played hide and seek, he climbed trees and he ran! It's the best exercise regime I have found yet! Well Happy Birthday Mr. B...here's to many more wonderful years to come!
