So my husband thinks that I go a little too far when it comes to throwing a party, lol. I promised him for my son's birthday it would be a simple backyard party...and of course it was the most fun party ever!!! My kids (probably all kids) could care less about the decorations, if the invitation matches the table cloth or even if the house is cleaned for our guests. My son's only request was that we get a dunk tank...and so the idea for a Water Wars party started. As hard as I tried to get some decent pictures of the food/gift table set up, the day of the party we had 15-20 mph winds...the food was literally blowing off of the tables. So I snapped a few then we moved anything that wasn't tied down inside. Being the uber-organized person that I am, I set up stations and had a schedule (stop laughing) of things to do at the party. First was the dunk tank. Then we had slip 'n slide races. Finally we finished up with a huge water war including water balloons & water guns (hardly in pictures of this cause they started squirting me and I figured I better get my camera out of there!!!). The cake was red-velvet on the inside and covered in rock-candy on the outside. The blueberry jello cups and chocolate covered apples were both a big hit with the kids. Finally, with everyone sporting a custom made tattoo, they had a chance to stop in the photo booth. ***And for those who follow along the story of my son's first crush...yes, that is her...and they are adorable :)
